Roy Lewis

Burlington, NC Roy Albert Lewis,84, of 342 Albany St. passed away Sunday, January 21, 2007 at Alamance Regional Medical Center. Mr. Lewis was born April 3, 1922 in Danville, Va. to the late Mr. Walter Henry and Mrs.Clyde Haraway Lewis. He was married to Muriel Wiggins Lewis who preceded him in 2002. Mr. Lewis was a retired electrician, a member of Calvary Baptist Church, and a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. Survivors include a daughter, Yvonne L. and her husband Melvin Dodson of Graham; a son, Gary L. and his wife Tina Lewis of Burgaw, NC; six grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; one brother, Walter, Jr. and his wife Frances Lewis of Providence, NC; two sisters, Alline and her husband Bob Bennett of Brunswick, GA; and Nancy Boswell of Orange Park, Fl. Mr. Lewis was preceded in death by a son, Roy Wayne "Butch" Lewis; two brothers, Cleo Lewis and Charles Lewis; and a sister, Helen Dunevant. Funeral Services will be held 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, January 24, 2007 at Calvary Baptist Church by the Rev. Ernest Beck. Interment will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held 6-8 P.M. Tuesday, January 23, 2007 at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory and at other times at the residence. Memorials can be made to Calvary Baptist Church, 230 Williamson St. Burlington, NC 27215.
