Roy King

Roy Vance King, 51, of 3240 King Family Trail, died Monday, May 5, 2008 on David Moore Rd. after a sudden accident. A native of Alamance County, he was the son of the late Leonard Claude King and Mrs. Irma Ruth Fogleman Straughn, who survives. He was employed at TST Logistics and was a member of Altamahaw Baptist Church. Mr. King is survived by his mother and step father, Linwood Straughn, of the home; a daughter, Jamie Lynn King of Moorehead City, NC; a son, Roy Justin King of Boulder, CO; two grandchildren, Summer Lynn Miller and Lucas King Futrell, two sisters, Jean K. Hopkins and her husband, Mark, and Diane Marie Mitchell, all of Burlington; a brother, Leonard Claude King, Jr. and his wife, Angie, of Burlington; two sisters-in-law, Elaine King and Donna King; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father; and two brothers, Kenneth Ray King and Walter Gerald King. The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 PM Thursday, May 8, 2008 at Altamahaw Baptist Church by Dr. Steve Tucker, Rev Walter Jones, and Rev. Stacey Hall. Interment will follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12:00-1:45 Thursday prior to the service at the church and other times at the home.
