Mr. Roy D. "Bill" Cook, age 83, of Burlington, died Friday, November 4, 2011 at Alamance Regional Medical Center after a brief illness. A native of Alamance County, he was the son of the late David Thomas "D.T." Cook and the late Nettie Lynn Cook and was married for over 60 years to Mrs. Bennie Conklin "Sue" Cook, who survives. He retired after many years of service from Webco Fabrics and was an avid musician and sang and played with several groups, including the Glen Hope Quartet. He loved the Lord, his family and his music. "Bill" is survived by his wife of the home; two daughters, Linda Wall and her husband, Billy, of Winston-Salem and Pamela Davis and her husband, Robert, of Gibsonville; a granddaughter, Leslie Long and her fianc, Nathan Prince; a great grandson, Connor Long; two sisters, Naomi Fagg and Orpah Cook, both of Asheboro; a brother, Charles Cook of Burlington; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters and three brothers. The graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 PM Monday, November 7, 2011 at Alamance Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel. The family will receive friends after the committal service and other times at the home of his daughter, Pamela Davis, 3572 Gilliam's Church Rd., Gibsonville.
