Mrs. Rosemble Pardue Martin went to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 11, at 4:40 pm after several days of critical illness. Rosie was born on September 29, 1916, and was the eldest of the five children of John and Ethel Pardue. Her family resided in the Chatham Heights community in Winston-Salem where she met her childhood sweetheart, M.O. Martin. She and M.O. married on March 24, 1933, and had one daughter, Sherry Martin Hendrix. After being a stay at home mom, she worked for the Optical Department at NC Baptist Hospital until retirement. In 1983, she and her husband moved to Graham, NC, to be near their daughter and her family. Rosie faithfully attended Grace Reformed Baptist Church in Mebane where she was their oldest member. Survivors include her daughter, Sherry Hendrix, and her husband, Gary; grandchildren: Grant Erin, Laura Jeff, Zane Jennie Rhyne; great grandchildren: Avonlea, Jack, and McKenna Johnston; Kinley Hendrix; Sarah Cate Hendrix; sisters, Lois Wofford and Frances Blackmon; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, M.O. Martin; parents, John and Ethel Pardue; brother, Odell Pardue; sister, Mabel Davis. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, March 18, following the evening worship service at Grace Reformed Baptist Church in Mebane. A private family burial was held in Winston-Salem. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Bradford Academy, P.O. Box 147, Mebane, NC, 27302. The family is so grateful for the compassionate and loving care of the staff at Alamance Healthcare and Hospice of Caswell and Alamance Counties
