Rosa Young

Rosa Lea McGee Young (Mama) 96, formally of 417 W. Gilbreath St., Graham went peacefully to
see the Lord on May 31, 2016 at the Hospice Home in Burlington, NC.
Rose was born on June 14, 1919 in Wake County to Joseph Ezekiel and Emily McGee. Being raised on a farm, vegetables and other items were taken to sale at the fresh�air market by she and her cousin. While there, they would sing and dance on a make�shift stage just as we can imagine she is doing at this moment. Her compassion for gardening, cooking and providing for others continued throughout her life. When
she was not gardening or cooking, she assisted the local doctor as a mid�wife. Mom lived most of her
adult life in Graham, NC and was the eldest living member of North Graham Baptist Church.
She was married to Edwin Marion Young of Wake Forest, NC who preceded her in death. Others include
her parents, son Edwin Dewaine (Ed), other family members Raymond, Leigh, and Luke Hilliard, and
Henry, a cousin whom she also raised along with her other three sons. Rose is survived by her
Sons Douglas Young and wife Jean of Tennessee, Michael Young of Graham, NC and Compton Young
And his wife Becky of Burlington, NC. She was blessed with grandchildren, Jeffrey, Kristin, Yvette,
Yvonne and Yorke as well as her seven great�grandchildren.
Visitation for family and friends will be held Friday, June 3, 2016 at Lowe Funeral Home from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Graveside service will be held at Alamance Memorial Park on June 4, 2016 at 11:00 am. Reverend Jeff Knudson will officiate the service. Should inclement weather prevail, service will be held in the mausoleum.
