Ronnie Moore, Sr.

Mr. Ronnie Thurman Moore, Sr., age 83, of Elon, passed away on Tuesday, April 26, 2016 at Ashton Place after several months of failing health.
Born in Rockingham County, he was the son of the late Mallie R. "M.L." Moore and the late Betty Sue Alcon Moore and was married over 65 years to the late Mary Etta Majors Moore, who passed in 2014. He and his son, Ronnie, Jr. were the owners and operators of Ronnie Moore Construction from 1973 until his retirement in 1992. He was of the Christian faith.
Mr. Moore is survived by his daughter, Deborah M. Ballard and husband, Lewis, of Burlington; his son Ronnie T. Moore, Jr. and wife, Dana, of Burlington; four grandchildren, Jason Moore, Jennifer (Tom) Whaley, Chris Ballard and Ashley (Luis) Torres; two step grandchildren, Brooks (Amee) Smith and Aulden (Kristin) Smith; six great grandchildren; one step great grandchild; a sister, Jane Bordeaux; two brothers, William Moore and Robert Moore; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death b y his wife; parents; two sisters, Jean Hawkins and Frances Whitsell; and four brothers, Harold Dean Moore, Gerald Moore, Jimmy Moore and Latham Moore.
The funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 PM Friday, April 29, 2016 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Troy Rushing. Entombment will follow at Alamance Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 11:30 AM - 12:45 PM Friday prior to the service at the funeral home and other times at the son's residence.
