Ronald Dean “Ronnie” Stuber, 65, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 14, 2024 at his residence surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with advanced Parkinson’s disease. A native of Alamance County, he was born December 7, 1958 to the late Clarence Albert and Genevieve Hopkins Perry Stuber and was the husband of 43 years to Deborah Brooks “Debbie” Stuber of the home.
Ronnie worked as the Assistant Pro at Alamance Country Club then became the Pro at Quarry Hills Golf Course, helping many learn to love and appreciate the game of golf. He would then join Debbie’s family business, Biller’s Jewelers in Burlington. Soon after, they moved to Wilmington and founded R&D Designs. His career working alongside his wife spanned over 30 incredible years.
Ronnie enjoyed countless hours playing golf and traveling with Debbie to remote locations and often unknown destinations. Most of all, he enjoyed spending invaluable moments with his family and friends.
Survivors include his wife, Debbie; daughter, Heather Bowland (Ryan); grandson, Cameron Dean Bowland; siblings, Steve Stuber (Tina), Sharon Oakley (Mitch); surrogate son, Robbie McIntosh; numerous nieces and nephews who he dearly loved and his many feline companions aka “Everybody”. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Genevieve Stuber and his beloved k-9 companion, “Tiki”.
A service to celebrate Ronnie’s life will be held at 2:00PM on Saturday, August 17, 2024 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Nathan Hooks with the burial to follow at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12-1:45 prior to the service at Lowe Funeral Home and other times at his home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to AuthoraCare Collective (Hospice), 914 Chapel Hill Rd., Burlington, NC 27215 or to the Parkinson’s Foundation, P.O. Box 61420, Staten Island, NY 10306 or to The First Tee, 12201 Leesville Rd., Raleigh, NC 27613.
