Ronald “Ron” Monroe Johnson, 88, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 13, 2023 at Alamance Regional Medical Center. He was born in Alamance County on October 21, 1935 to the late Walter Lee Johnson, Sr. and Laura Neta Terrell Johnson, and was the husband of sixty-eight years to Iris Garrison Johnson of the home.
Ron retired from JB Floor Covering. He was a sales manager in the flooring industry for over forty-five years. After retirement he went to work as a salesman with the American Mattress Company/McClure Furniture in Graham for eight years. He was a member of Bethlehem Christian Church and attended Stony Creek Presbyterian Church. Ron was an avid UNC fan, he enjoyed wood working and designing plans with his architectural skills. He loved to square dance with Iris, and they were members of the Shallowford Square Dancers Club, and enjoyed dancing at Liberty Showcase with their friends; loved traveling the world, he never met a stranger, he just loved being around people, but most of all he loved and adored his family, especially his grandchildren.
Survivors other than his wife, Iris Johnson include his two daughters, Cynthia Dawn Callahan and Lisa Johnson Horner and husband Lynn; three grandchildren, Brian Thompson, Courtney Perry and Heather Marie Horner; great grandchildren, Keely Thompson, Cale Thompson, Finley Thompson, Garrett Benjamin, Bryce Camden and his special Christlyn Marie, and two more great grandsons; and several nieces and nephews. Ron was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings, Maggie J. Britt, Barbara J. Flack, Arlene Quakenbush, Clarence Johnson, Albert Johnson, Walter Lee Johnson, Jr., Paul Johnson, and Arnold Richard Johnson.

The family had a private graveside service on Tuesday, November 14, 2023 at Stony Creek Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
