Ronald "Ronnie" Harry Redden, 72, died on Saturday, October 20, 2018 at High Smith Rainey Hospital surrounded by his family. He was formerly of Gibsonville but moved to Hope Mills 3 years ago to be closer to his daughters. Ronnie was born on September 8, 1946 in Marion, NC to the late James Lee Redden and Annie Ruteledge Smith and was the husband of 52 years to Esper "Olean" Greeson Redden who survives.
Ronnie retired after 20 years with Tyco Electric. He was a member of Brown Summit Baptist Church, an avid NASCAR fan and was a US Army veteran of the Vietnam War.
Survivors other than his wife, Esper G. Redden include his daughters, Rhonda Harris and husband, Brian, Renata Garrett and husband, Levi; granddaughter, Katlin Harris; a sister, Delia Harris and husband, Cliff; brothers, Bennie Redden and wife, Okie, and Marty Redden; brother-in-law, Roy Greeson; sisters-in-law, Rachel Johnson and husband, Harry, Martha Greeson and Faye Greeson, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, David Redden and Paul Smith; sisters, Brenda Redden-Hayes and Linda Edwards; brothers-in-law, Odell Greeson and Paul Greeson.
The funeral service will be held 2:00pm Thursday, October 25, 2018 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Carl Shelton with the burial to follow in Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12:30pm to 1:45pm Thursday prior to the service and other times at Rachel Johnson's home.
