Ronald Peterson

Mr. Ronald David Peterson, age 72, of Gibsonville, passed away on Thursday, October 5, 2017 at Alamance Regional Medical Center.
Born in McPherson, KS, he was the son of the late Ernest Duane Peterson and the late Ethel Carole Johnson Peterson and is survived by Mrs. Donna Bason Peterson, his wife of eight years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served during the Vietnam War. Ronald retired with over 33 years of service from Western-Electric, where during his employment he was stationed on Kwajalein in the Marshall Islands and worked on important military projects. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Graham, where he was active in several groups. He was also a volunteer for over 20 years with Habitat for Humanity. Ronald was an avid golfer and a very loving and attentive husband, father and grandfather.
Mr. Peterson is survived by his wife, Donna; his daughter, Paula Brown and husband, Tom, of Hillsborough; his son, Brian Peterson and wife, Heather, of Keller, TX; three step sons, Bradley Richard Bason and wife, Krystal, of Charlotte, Bart Bason and wife, Linzmarie, of Decatur, GA and Brian Bason and wife, Britney, of Gibsonville; nine grandchildren, Theodore Brown, Grace Peterson, Andrew Peterson, Elijah Bason, Londen Glasgow, Patton Lane Bason, Parker Allen Bason, Patton Hugo Bason and Kieran Bartholomew Bason; sister-in-law, Georgianna Peterson; and two nieces, Rhonda Dealey and Melinda Cochran. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Bonnie Sue Flickinger Peterson; his parents; and a brother, Dwayne Peterson.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at First United Methodist Church of Graham by Pastor Kevin Baker. The family will receive friends from 10:00 -10:45 AM prior to the service at the church.
