Ronald Buckner

Burlington, NC Ronald L. Pal Buckner, age 74, of Burlington died peacefully on Monday, June 11, 2007 at the Hospice Home in Burlington. Mr. Buckner was pre-deceased by his wife of 48 years, Barbara Ashby Buckner, and a sister, Sarah Frances Buckner. He was the son of the late Boyd R. Buckner and the late Lillie Ward Buckner Everhart. Pal retired after over 35 years with A.T. & T. formerly Western Electric, and was a veteran of the US Navy serving aboard a submarine during the Korean War. He is survived by his son, Michael Buckner and his wife, Meredith of Durham; daughter, Wendy Apple and her husband, Jonathan of Greensboro; grandchildren, Ginny Buckner, Caroline Apple, Will Apple and Maggie Apple; brother, Howard Buckner of Gibsonville and a sister, Louise Miles of Elon. The funeral service will be held on Friday, June 15, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at the Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Curtis Oakley and the burial will follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home and other times at his sisters home, Louise Miles, 812 Westwood Drive, Elon, NC.
