Ronald Blevins

Mr. Ronald Elwood Blevins, 83, passed away on Monday, October25, 2021 at Alamance Regional Medical Center after a courageous battle against the complications of COVID-19.

He was a loving husband, father and grandfather, a wonderful neighbor and friend. He loved the Lord with all of his heart.  He was an active member of St. Marks Church, Burlington, NC for more than 20 years, where he was known for his big hugs, big laughs and warm greetings.  He will be missed every day and we will look forward to being reunited with him in Heaven.

Ron was a graduate of Morehead University.  He served in the U.S. Navy for four years, domestically and overseas in Rota, Spain before beginning a career with A.O. Smith. He retired from A.O. Smith as an Industrial Engineer with more than 40 years of service.

Ron is survived by his wife of 23 years, Elsie; two sons: Ron Blevins of Calabash and Marty Blevins (Andrea) of Pleasant Garden; three daughters: Julie Richards (Craig) of Concord, Karen Jobe of Charlotte and Paula Morrison (Jocko) of Graham; stepson, David Wagner of Burlington and stepdaughter, Kimberly Shoffner (Bryan) of Burlington; sister Juanita “Cookie” Graves of Louisville, Kentucky; 17 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Clay and Zella Blevins of Mount Sterling, Kentucky where he learned the values of hard work, faith, family and community while working on the family farm; and daughter, Mary Patricia Blevins.

Services will be officiated by Pastor Ben Bishop on Monday, November 1, 2021 at 11:00 AM in the original sanctuary of St. Marks Church.  The family will receive visitors at 10:00 in the lobby of St. Marks Church.  Interment will directly follow services at Alamance Memorial Park.  Masks are required to attend services in respect of Ron’s battle against COVID-19.
