Roger Dale Smith

Roger Dale Smith, 73, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 11, 2022 at his home in Longs, SC. A native of Reidsville, he was born February 18, 1949 to the late Thomas Woodrow Smith and Katie Elizabeth Cobb Fargis and was the husband of 49 years to Rosa Lopizzo Smith of the home.

Roger retired in 2015 from Southeastern Paper Group in Browns Summit as a sales consultant.  He enjoyed golf, fishing, sporting events and traveling cross country.  He also enjoyed flipping and trading cars, flea markets, metal detecting and had a gift of telling stories.  He loved his wife, kids, grandkids and his dog “KoKo”.  Roger was a genuine, sincere, big-hearted individual who never met a stranger.  He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Survivors include his wife, Rosa; sons, Chris Smith (Leah), Dale Smith and Zane Smith (Michele); daughter, Shannon Smith; grandchildren, Madelaine, Tabitha, Morgan, Campbell and Cooper Smith and Devon Holland; brothers, Bobby Smith (Yvonne), David Smith (Colleen) and James Smith.  He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Steve Smith and Tom Smith.

A service to celebrate Roger’s life will be held 2:00pm on Thursday, July 14, 2022 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Ben Bishop with the burial to follow at Gibsonville City Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 12:30-1:45 prior to the service at the funeral home.
