Roger Stephen Lee, 66, passed away Monday, December 4, 2017 at Hospice and Palliative Care of Alamance-Caswell. He was born January 30, 1951 to Jesse Carl and Irene Blanchard Lee, both deceased.
Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Linda Gossage Lee of the home; sons, Jesse Allen Lee and wife Angela Millspaugh Lee and Andrew Stephen "Andy" Lee and wife Leah Chandler Lee; grandchildren, Jesse Allen Lee, II, Madeline Paige "Addie" Lee and Levi Canyon Lee (who Steve referred to as Leroy) and brother Richard Vaden Lee. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, James Carl ''Jimmy" Lee and twin boys, Andy Joe Lee and Randy Scott Lee; sister Rachel Lee Carney.
Steve was a member of Riverside Baptist Church. He was blessed with God-given musical talent. He was a musician, a vocalist, as well as a teacher. Though he loved many types of music, his first love was always Southern Gospel. Through the years he sang with several groups such as The Young Deacons and The Cathedral Quartet. He played an integral part of the music departments at People's Memorial Christian Church, Brookwood Baptist Church & Riverside Baptist Church. Steve was also an avid sports fan. Basketball was his favorite during his school years and softball his passion after graduating. He was a die-hard Duke basketball fan. Steve loved being a husband, a father, a son, a brother and friend. But above all, he loved his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00am Saturday, December 9, 2017 at People's Memorial Christian Church by Rev. Bob Stephenson and Rev. David Grinnell. Interment will follow in Phillip's Chapel Cemetery. Mr. Lee will remain at Lowe Funeral Home & Crematory until being taken to People's Memorial Christian Church where the family will receive friends from 5:30-7:30 on Friday.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Hospice of Alamance County or Riverside Baptist Church.
