Rodney Keith Hutchins, 57, of 227 N. Wilkins Rd. passed away Saturday, August 15, 2009 at his residence. Mr. Hutchins was born in California to the late Leroy and Doris Hutchins. He worked 31 years with Copeland Fabrics was a member of the Pilgrim Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. Survivors include his wife of 34 years Dottie Hutchins of the home; two sons, Steve Hutchins and Donald Hutchins both of Haw River; a daughter, Tonya Joyce and her husband Jeffrey of Burlington; four grandchildren, Austin Hutchins, Sean Michael Joyce, Donald Lewis Hutchins, and Shelby Joyce; one step-grandson, Matthew Long; three brothers, Russell Hutchins, Sam Hutchins, and Lee Hutchins all of Roxboro; and four sisters, Carol Money, Sue Jordon, Linda Melton all of Roxboro, and Barbara Povatin of Florida. A funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 18, 2009 at the Pilgrim Baptist Church with the Rev. Uston McKenzie officiating. Interment will follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Monday evening at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at the home.
