Rodema Lee Wright Stogner, age 69, of Boyd Wright Road went to be with her Lord on Saturday, April 21, 2012 at Hospice Home after almost four years of treatment for ovarian cancer. A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of Bob Stogner and daughter of the late J. Boyd and Olive Rodema Wright. Rodema graduated from Marion College in Indiana with a B.A. degree in art. She taught art and a variety of other subjects in Indiana, Archdale and later in Burlington. She retired as a Teacher's Assistant at E. M. Holt School. She loved to paint, make cards and gifts for others, sing and was an avid reader. Her loving spirit, caring heart and sense of humor made friendships a very special part of her life. Her strong love of God and family gave her life a simple but powerful focus. She received a great legacy of these values from her parents and passed them on to many students, friends and her family. Her spirit was born to dance. She was a lifelong member of First Wesleyan Church in Burlington and was very active in various ministries of the church. She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Bob Stogner and their three children, William Stogner, Suzie Stogner and Olivia Stogner, all of Burlington; 4 sisters, Elizabeth Waymire and husband Chuck of Dayton, OH, Rachel Conklin and husband Delano, Anna Burrow and husband Ron and Ruth Johnson and husband Randy, all of Burlington; brother-in-law Bill Stogner, 8 nieces and 3 nephews, and 25 great nieces and nephews. The service in honor of Rodema's life will be held at the First Wesleyan Church, 304 S. Anthony St., Burlington, NC at 2:00pm Tuesday, April 24, 2012. Following the service, there will be a time of fellowship with the extended family in the Fellowship Hall of the church. There will be a graveside service at Southfork Friends Church in Chatham County. Everyone is invited to "Celebrate Rodema", which will be held at the Fellowship Hall of First Wesleyan Church on Saturday, April 28 from 2-4pm. This will be a time for visiting with the family, remembering and celebrating her love of art, creativity and people.
