Burlington, NC Robin Somers Wicker, age 52 went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 8, 2012 at the Hospice Home surrounded by her family. She was a native of Alamance County and the wife of 21 years to David Carlton Wicker, Jr. who survives. She was the daughter of John Donald Somers, Sr. and the late Helen Anderson Somers. Robin was formerly employed with Somers Surveying, a business owned and operated by her father. She was a 1979 graduate of Eastern High School and a member of the varsity cheerleading squad. She enjoyed dancing especially shagging and line dancing. Robin was a former member of Hopedale Christian Church and a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Survivors include her husband, David C. Wicker, Jr. of the home; son, Brandon Motley and his wife, Ashley of Burlington; grandson, Jameson Motley and one grandchild on the way; father and wife, John Donald Somers, Sr. and Ramona Somers of Burlington; sister, Donna Somers Vines and husband, Henry of Snow Camp and a brother, Don Somers and wife, Tracy of Graham. She was preceded in death by her mother, Helen Anderson Somers; nephew, William Henry Vines, III and her grandmother, Sallie Anderson. A service to celebrate her life will be held on Wednesday, December 12, 2012 at 4:00 p.m. at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Joe Hicks. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. on Tuesday at Lowe Funeral Home and other times at the home.
