Robin Denise Shelton Roberts was granted her angel wings on May 19, 2012. Her final week of life was how she would have wanted it, spending time with family and friends. She touched these people in some way through her journey of life. Her life would seem to short for many. She was a mother, daughter, wife, and a new grandmother but most of all, a best friend. Those who were lucky enough to know Robin understood the quality of existence far exceeds the quantity of time in which one lives. She was heaven sent and she gave us courage and hope and reminded us of how lucky we all are. One smile from her and you would never forget. Robin was born January 7, 1964 to Mary Ruth Collins Shelton and the late Alvin Larry Shelton. She was a licensed CNA, formerly employed by Twin Lakes and more recently a Personal Assistant. Survivors include her husband, David Ray Roberts of the home; daughter, Casey Lee Anderson and husband Joey of Rural Hall; son, T.J. Bullard of Winston-Salem; mother, Mary Ruth Collins Councilman and stepfather, Steve Councilman of Winston-Salem; brothers Larry Shelton and wife Angie of Walnut Cove and Dennis Councilman of Winston-Salem and granddaughter, Summer Ruth Anderson. She was preceded in death by her father, Alvin Shelton; paternal grandparents, Casey and Ruth Shelton and Charlie and Maggie Collins. Funeral services will be held at 4:00pm Tuesday, May 22. 2012, in the Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Gary Blalock and Rev. Jimmy Money. The family will receive friends following the funeral service at Lowe Funeral Home.
