Robert Boyd Mann

Robert Boyd Mann, 84, passed away Thursday, February 28, 2019 at his home.

A native of Alamance County, he was the son of the late Robert Lee and Carrie Rice Mann and the husband of Jean Neal Mann who survives.

Boyd was an l954 graduate of Williams High School and Burlington Business College. He was a member of First Christian Church and a Mason with Bula Lodge #409 A.F. & A.M. He was employed by R. L. Mann Wholesale, operated Church's Grocery, The Wine Store and was employed by Dillon Supply.  After retirement he worked at Mid Carolina Bank and Pittman & Steele Law Firm. He enjoyed fishing at the Outer Banks, riding his Harley and spending time at Cherry Grove Beach with his grandchildren. He never met a stranger and loved life.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Jean Neal Mann; son, R. Neal Mann (Jan); daughter, Laura Mann Walker (Gary); grandchildren, Robert Neal Mann, Jr. and McKenzie Mann, Jarrod Walker (Heidi), Mattie Anne Hinson (Wil) and Graham Walker (Molly); 4 great grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, March 2, 2019 at Alamance Memorial Park, by Rev. David Wood with Masonic Rites by Bula Lodge #409.  The family will receive friends at Lowe Funeral Home on Friday March 1 from 5-7 pm.  Mr. Mann will remain at Lowe Funeral Home & Crematory until being taken to the cemetery for services.
