Robert Lee “Bobby” Wyrick, Sr., 89, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, October 22, 2021 at his home. He was a native of Guilford County and the son of the late Addie Hillary and Lillie Brown Wyrick. He was the husband of the late AnnaBelle Winfree Wyrick for 68 years, who died in 2020, and was the last of eight siblings.
Bobby retired from Dockery Lumber Company after 27 years and then founded Wyrick Construction and worked with his sons in building homes and making repairs. He was dedicated to his family and neighbors, willing to help in any way he could and was always there when needed. Bobby was a carpenter all his life and an outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing and gardening. He was a faithful husband, loving and strict father and caring grandfather and will be greatly missed by all his family and friends.
Mr. Wyrick is survived by his four children: Robert Lee “Pete” Wyrick, Jr. and wife, Sherry, Ann Hillman, Billy Wyrick and wife, Kathy, and Carl Wyrick and wife, Tonya; grandchildren: Robert Wyrick, Olivia Wyrick, Carla Bennett, Amanda Hillman, Micheal Wyrick, Jason Wyrick, Addison Wyrick and Aaron Wyrick and Amber Redance and Ashlie Lovelace; great grandchildren: Noah Wyrick, Nicholas, Natalie and Nolan Bennett, Braedyn, Anson, and Luka Wyrick, Lainee and Ada Redance, Grae, Gage and Kallie Lovelace.
Along with his parents, Bobby was preceded in death by his wife, and three sisters and four brothers: Ervin, James, Willie and Edgar Wyrick, Margaret Rumley, Edna Hatcher and Frances Johnson.
A service to celebrate his life will be held at 3:00pm on Tuesday, October 26, 2021 at Apple’s Chapel Christian Church officiated by Pastor Dave Johnson and Rev. Allen Myers. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church from 2:00-2:45 and other times at the home.
