Mr. Robert Alan "Bob" Ware, 59, of 4024 Williams Mill Rd., died Friday, February 29, 2008 at Harker's Island after a sudden illness. A native of Carney's Point, NJ, he is the son of the late Joseph and Mae Ware and was married to Mrs. Teresa MacIntyre Ware, who survives. Bob was employed with LabCorp for over 29 years and was a former Firefighter and EMT with the City of Burlington. He was a member of St. Mark's Church, the Secretary of the Wateree Boykin Spaniel Club and an Extraterritorial Member of the Burlington Planning and Zoning Commision. He was a charter member of the Rockingham County Gun Club and also a member of the National Rifle Association. Mr. Ware is survived by his wife of the home; children, Mrs. Lee Angela Thornton and her husband, Shawn, of Burlington and Justin Michael Ware of Raleigh; step children, Mrs. Shannon Isley and her husband, Ryan, of Burlington and Jonathan Ross Smith of the home; grandchildren, Connor Thornton, Kaitlynn Isley and Madison Isley; a sister, Susan Swiderski and her husband, Ed, of Pennsville, NJ; a brother, Jack Ware and his wife, Carol, of Mahomet, IL; a niece, Diana Guzman of NJ; and his special pups, Banjo and Boomer. He was preceded in death by his parents and a nephew, Todd Ware. The funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 PM Wednesday, March 5, 2008 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Ben Bishop. Interment will follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6-8 Tuesday evening and other times at the home.
