Robert Wade

Robert James "Pete" Wade, age 91, of 4362 Gilliam Church Rd., died Monday, February 8, 2010 at Alamance Regional Medical Center after a brief illness. Born in Person County, he was the son of the late Flemming Rainey Wade and the late Susie Long Wade and was married for over 63 years to Mrs. Lora Lee Troxler Wade, who survives. Pete retired from Riverview Narrow Fabrics after several years of service. He also owned and operated Wade's Grocery and was a farmer for many years. Pete was a U. S. Army Veteran of WWII, serving in the Pacific Theater, and was a longtime member of Shiloh United Methodist Church. Mr. Wade is survived by his wife of the home; five daughters, Kaddy Haizlip and husband, Curtis, of Burlington, Teresa Miller and her husband, Tim, of Vale, NC, Lynette Pryor and husband, Phillip, Janet Bowman and Jenny Harris, all of Gibsonville; sixteen grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and three sisters, Collie Poole of Semora, Isabeth Davis of Hillsborough and Maggie Wade of Burlington. He was preceded in death by his parents; three sons, Clarence James Wade, Douglas Ray Wade and Ricky Lynn Wade; two sisters, Eva Wade Cecil and Betty Wade Carter; and three brothers, Harvey Wade, Dewey Wade and Arthur Wade. The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 PM Thursday, February 11, 2010 at Shiloh United Methodist Church by Rev. David Stark. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 Wednesday evening at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at the residence.
