Robert Stanion

Gibsonville, NC Robert Peter Stanion, age 78, passed away on Thursday, March 14, 2013 at ARMC. He was born in Newark, New Jersey. Bob was the husband of 52 years to Theresa Drozd Stanion who survives. Bob retired after 29 years as a Senior Engineer with IBM. He graduated from the New Jersey Institute of Technology with a BS in Electrical Engineering. Bob served his country as a US Marine during the end of the Korean Conflict. He was an avid Red Sox Fan and will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Survivors include his wife, Theresa D. Stanion of the home; daughter, Jessica Flemings and husband, Robert of Vermont; sons, Ted Stanion and wife, Adrienne of Portland, Oregon and Tim Stanion and wife, Courtney of Durham, NC; grandchildren, Joshua, Justin, Addyson, Austin, Emma, Sydney and Kylie; sisters, Stephanie Bleach and husband, Bill of Virginia and Jo Wishner of Florida; brother, Tom Gelay of New Jersey and a sister-in-law, Barbara Griggs of New Jersey. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Loaves and Fishes.
