Robert "Bobby" Murray, 72, of Burlington went home to be with the Lord on Monday, March 19, 2012 at White Oak Manor. He was born in Alamance County to the late George Frank Murray and Pearl Fulcher Murray Troxler. He worked for Burlington Industries for over 25 years. Bobby was a member of the Salvation Army, which he dearly loved, and also volunteered for the Boys and Girls Clubs there. He was a friend to all, visiting with everyone he could, especially with employees of the Burlington Police and Fire Departments on his daily walk through the community. He is survived by his cousins, Junior Dot Hicks of Burlington and several other cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Mary Burns, brothers, Edward, Bernie and Bill Murray, and his stepfather, Harvey Troxler. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 PM Thursday, March 22, 2012 at Pine Hill Cemetery by Major Terry Edwards with the Salvation Army. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory. Memorials may be made to the Salvation Army, P.O. Box 1238, Burlington, NC 27216. The family would like to say a special "Thank You" to the doctors, nurses and staff at White Oak Manor.
