Robert Scott Marks

Mr. Robert Scott Marks, 80, of Sanford, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 13, 2025.

Robert was born May 8, 1944 in Alamance County to Wallace Crawford Marks and Lela Pauline Tew Marks. He served for several years in the US Army. Robert worked for many years at UNC Chapel Hill in their print department and in later years, as a driver for a local car dealership. In his free time, Robert loved to play golf, as well as driving his lawnmower throughout his neighborhood, assisting his friends with their yardwork. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Mary Best, and brothers, Albert Marks, Frankie Marks, and Jimmy Marks.

Robert is survived by his wife, Jane Marks; sons, Michael Marks (Christy) and Chris Marks (Allison); daughter, Amy Stout (Kim); Jane’s children, Erin Scott (Jessie) and Kyle Marks (Shawn); grandchildren, Brandon Marks, Nathan Marks, Anna Marie Marks, Jacob Marks, Makayla Miles, Brianna Miles, and Trent Miles; sisters, Ann Alvis and Lela Marks; and brothers, Tim Marks, Dwight Marks, and David Marks; and a host of nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 1 – 1:45 PM on Tuesday, March 18, 2025 at Lowe Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 2 PM. Burial with military honors will follow at Alamance Memorial Park.
