Robert Gerringer

Mr. Robert Gerringer, age 67, of Burlington, passed away on Wednesday, June 24, 2020 at Moses Cone Hospital after a brief illness.

Born in Guilford County, he was the son of the late Tom Gerringer and the late Alice Gerringer and was married for over 47 years to his wife Betty “Janie” Gerringer, who survives.  Robert was a hard working man and was employed with Cone Mills for over 30 years and also worked with the Guilford County School System for over 10 years.  He loved camping and was of the Baptist faith.  He was a good husband and the best “Paw Paw”/ “Pop”.

Mr. Gerringer is survived by his wife of the home; his son Brian Gerringer and wife, Becky; his daughter, Kristina Galvin and husband, Speedy; three grandchildren, Michael Gerringer, Jason Galvin and Harley Galvin; great granddaughter, Addy Gerringer; four brothers, Davis (Carol) Gerringer, Don (Hattie) Gerringer, Leonard (Lisa) Gerringer and Phillip (Angel) Gerringer; and his mother-in-law, Betty Scoggins, who fed him good food and who he loved to pick on.  He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Wayne Gerringer and James Gerringer.

There will be a graveside service at 1:00 PM Tuesday, June 30, 2020 at Alamance Memorial Park by Rev. Ernest Beck.  The family will receive friends from 11:30 – 12:30 Tuesday prior to the service at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory.
