Graham, NC Robert "Bobby" Smith Fulcher, age 77, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, December 24, 2010, after one week of critical care at Alamance Regional Medical Center. He was born September 13, 1933 and was the son of the late John Smith and Merle Roberson Fulcher. Bobby was a native of Alamance County and grew up on Bur-Mil Hill. Bobby retired after 42 years of service from Western Electric/Lucent Technologies. He served his country proudly as a member of the US Army. Bobby was an active member of Bible Baptist Church where he sang in the choir. He will be remembered mostly for his passion of singing for the Lord in gospel groups over most of his adult years and most recently for senior citizen groups. He was an avid UNC fan and a collector of "Tar Hill" memorabilia. He was a loving husband, father, brother and paw paw. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 28 years, Annette Clark Fulcher of the home; daughter, Renee Fulcher Wyrick of Burlington; son, Michael "Jay" Fulcher of Burlington; step daughters, Angela Webster Adams and Shannon Webster Foust both of Burlington, Amanda Webster Peeler and her husband, Michael "Todd" of Mebane; five grandchildren and three great grandchildren; sister, Mildred "Midge" Horner and her husband Dan of Elon. He was preceded in death by his parents. A service to celebrate his life will be held on Tuesday, December 28, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Bible Baptist Church by Dr. Mark Aheron and his nephew, Pastor David Horner. The burial will take place at Alamance Memorial Park with military honors provided by the 82nd Airborne Division from Ft. Bragg. The family will receive friends from 4 until 6 p.m. on Monday at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. and other times at the home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Bible Baptist Church Building Fund, 2733 Kirkwood Drive, Burlington, NC 27215.
