Mr. Robert Andrew "Bob" Conlon, age 89, of Burlington, passed away on Sunday, February 22, 2015 at the Hospice Home after several months of failing health. Born in Astoria, NY, he was the son of the late Andrew Joseph Conlon and the late Nettie Waldron Conlon and was married for over 62 years to Mrs. Martha Mattfeldt Conlon, who survives. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and served in the south Pacific during WWII. Bob retired from Western Electric after 33 years of service and was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Mr. Conlon is survived by his wife of the home; two daughters, Monica Brooks and husband, Steve, of Mebane and Linda O'Keefe and husband, Ed, of Highbridge, NJ; three sons, Steven Conlon and wife, Debbi, of Mebane, Gary Conlon and wife, Carol, of Durham and Glenn Conlon of Greensboro; eight grandchildren, Tate and Brandon Scott, Jeff O'Keefe, Jennifer, Bryan and Will Conlon, Elizabeth O'Neal and Leslie Reid; two great grandchildren; a sister, Kathleen Conlon of Miller Place, NY; and two brothers, William Conlon of Norwalk, CT and Kenneth Conlon of Davenport, Iowa. The funeral mass will be conducted at 1:00 PM Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church by Rev. Briant Cullinane, OFM Conv. Interment will follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 11:30 12:45 Wednesday prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Alamance-Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Rd., Burlington, NC 27215 or to Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 1620 Hanford Rd., Graham, NC 27253.
