Robert V. "Bob" Archer, 82, of 116 Westover Dr. went home to be with the Lord Friday, March 4, 2011 at his residence. Mr. Archer was born February 26, 1929 in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Everett R. Archer and Elizabeth Viola Handley Archer. He was the husband of the late Molly G. Archer who preceded him. Mr. Archer retired from the Miami Dade Police Department after 23 years of service; Louisville Division of Police, Louisville, Ky after four and a half years; was a member of the Miami Fraternal Order of Police, Police Benevolent Association, and Retired Officers Council; was a member of Burlington Assembly of God, and he served his country in the U. S. Navy. Survivors include two sons, Stephen L. Archer and his wife, Karen of Elon, and Douglas L. Archer and his wife, Barbara of Davie Fl; a daughter, Laura Hill and her husband Terry of Gibsonville; nine grandchildren, Jillian R. Stewart, Timothy D. Archer, Christina A. Archer, Andrew J. Archer, David W. Hodge, Jr., Stormi M. Maner, Brian K. Clement, Brandon Hill, Nicholas Hill; Four great grandchildren, Austin T. Holland, Peyton R. Maner, Bryton K. Clement, and Avery Noelle Hodge. He was preceded in death by his wife, and a son Timothy B. Archer. A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, March 6, 2011 in the Lowe Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Howard Thompson officiating. The family will receive friends following the service and other times the family will be at the home. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association, 2306 W.
