She is also survived by her daughter, Misty Wade; her mother, Louise Mansfield; a son-in-law, C. David Satterfield; three grandchildren, Jonathon Shatterly, Brittany Bright and Peyton Bright; a great granddaughter, Alaina Shatterly; her sisters, Beverly Gail Bright and husband Tommy, and Cindy Petty; a brother, Bobby Mansfield and wife Patty; and several nieces and nephews. Rita was preceded in death by a daughter, Cristy Wade Satterfield; her father, Leon “Buddy” Mansfield; and a brother, David Kernodle.

Rita retired as a custodian from the Alamance-Burlington School System and attended Trinity Baptist Church. She enjoyed decorating, working in her yard and in her flowers, was an animal lover and enjoyed taking care of all of her animals from chickens, ducks and her sugar gliders. But most of all she loved spending time with her family.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00pm Saturday, December 16, 2023 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Tommy Bright and Rev. Mark Mitchell. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8pm Friday evening at the funeral home and other times at the residence.
