Rinda Law Blackburn, 86, of Twin Lakes Community in Burlington, passed away on Friday, October 25, 2024, at Alamance Regional Medical Center surrounded by her family. She was born in Spray, NC to the late James Flurnoy Law and Una Dillon Law, and lived most of her life in Eden, NC.
A graduate of Tennessee Wesleyan College, Rinda began her career as an elementary school teacher and became a popular substitute teacher when her children were in school. For many years, she managed the family business, Una’s Shoppe, helping brides, grooms, and prom-goers find their perfect looks for special events.
Rinda was a very active member of Spray Baptist Church. During her lifetime, she taught Sunday School, managed a Sunday school department, conducted Children’s Choir, and delivered the children’s sermon on Sundays. In addition, she volunteered with the Salvation Army and the Eden Lion’s Club.
Throughout her active life, Rinda enjoyed golf, tennis, traveling, cooking (cheesecake was a specialty of hers), and spending time with friends and family. She was an avid fan of ACC football and basketball and followed the North Carolina schools during the seasons. More recently, she started following Virginia Tech and East Carolina as well.
Rinda is survived by her daughter, Malissa Reeser Hundley and her husband, Wayland; her son, Bryant Wexler Reeser and his wife, Wendy; her granddaughter, Kinsley Grace Reeser as well as her brother, Dr. James A. Law, and his wife, Cindy. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Archibald Willard “Bud” Reeser, Jr.; her second husband, John Walter Blackburn; her parents, James Flurnoy Law and Una Dillon Law; and one brother, David Law.
A service to celebrate Rinda’s life will be held at 1:00PM on Saturday, November 16, 2024, in the chapel at Twin Lakes Community in Burlington, North Carolina. The family will receive friends following the service.
