Ricky Shambley

Ricky Thomas Shambley, 51, of 2503 Columbine Ln., died Friday, August 4, 2006 at his home after a lengthy illness. A native of Alamance County, he was the son of Thomas Gordon Shambley, Sr. and Marie Workman Shambley, who both survive. Ricky was a self-employed roofing contractor and also worked for Dougs Towing and Recovery. He was an U.S. Marine Veteran and was Vice President of The Road Ramblers Motorcycle Club. Ricky was survived by his parents of Burlington; a step daughter, Carla Contrelle; a step grandson, Bradley Reed; five brothers, Terry Glen Shambley, David Wayne Shambley, Larry Dale Shambley, Douglas Olin Shambley all of Burlington, and Thomas Gordon Shambley, Jr. of Carolina Beach; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by an infant daughter and a step grandson, Richard Contrelle. The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 PM Monday, August 7, 2006 at West Burlington Church of God by the Rev. Olin Tatum. Interment will follow at Mt. Hermon United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-9 Sunday evening at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at the home.
