Richard "Ricky" Ivey

Richard “Ricky” Dean Ivey passed away on Tuesday, November 23, 2021 at Moses Cone Hospital. He was a native of Alamance County and the son of the late Willie Morgan and Katie Louise Dodson Ivey.

Ricky was employed for over 25 years with Electrolux. He was a caregiver for his parents, grandparents and his Big Sister. Ricky enjoyed boating and especially knee boarding. He was an avid Tarheel fan and he loved sweet tea! Ricky was a friend to everyone he met and would help anyone in need. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Survivors include his sisters, Janie Mitchell of Burlington and Debra Elmore and her husband, Jason of Mebane; brother, Roger Ivey and wife, Sally of Mebane and his nieces. Morgan Ivey, Katelyn and Jordan Elmore. He was preceded in death by his parents and nephew, Joshua Mitchell.

The family would like to thank the Physicians and Nurses at Moses Cone 2 Heart CVICU for their kind and compassionate care for Ricky and his extended family.

A service to celebrate his life will be held on Saturday, November 26, 2021 at 3:00PM at Chestnut Ridge United Methodist Church by Rev. Julia Alliger. The family will receive friends from 1:45-2:45PM prior to the service at the church. The burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will be at the home of Debra Elmore at other times.
