Haw River – Richard L. “Bud” Hunter, 91, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 8, 2023 at his home surrounded by his family. A native of Alamance County, he was born March 18, 1931 to the late Johnnie Roy and Elsie McCormick Hunter and was the husband of 47 years to Donna Faucette Hunter of the home.
Bud was a member of Shamrock Evangelical Methodist Church. He enjoyed fishing, golf, the outdoors and mowing his yard. He loved his family and will be missed by all.
Survivors include his wife, Donna; children, Jeannie Collins (Jeff), Rick Hunter (Sarah), Cheryl Hunter; grandchildren, Trinity Carodenuto (Joy), Michelle Whitfield (Chad), Brandon Collins, Erin Melton (Tripp); three great grandchildren; special nephew like a brother, Tommy Dawson and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; sons, Brandon Hunter and Marty Hunter; grandchild, Kelly Hunter and sisters, Nadine King and Pat Cannady.
A service to celebrate his life will be held at 2:00pm on Monday, February 13, 2023 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Brian Wardlaw with the burial to follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 2-4pm on Sunday at the funeral home and other times at the home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to AuthorCare Collective (Hospice) of Alamance-Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Rd., Burlington, NC 27215.
