Richard Hall

Burlington, NC Richard Delano Hall, age 74, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 17, 2011 at his home surrounded by his family. He was a native of Alamance County and the husband of the late Dora Estelle Allman Hall. Richard retired from Glen Raven Mills after 35 years of service and was of the Baptist Faith. He took great pleasure working the land and will always be remembered for his caring and generous heart. Richard was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Survivors include his daughters, Cathy Sharpe of Leasburg, NC and Connie Seamster and her husband, Reuben of Burlington; grandchildren, Sandy Stalnaker, Seraph Sharpe, US Army Sgt. Noah Eleanor Sharpe, Charity Sharpe, Caleb Sharpe, Joshua Sharpe, Hannah Sharpe, Reuben Seamster, Jr., Randy Seamster, Dustin Marty Seamster, Chyanne Seamster; seven great grandchildren; special friend, Grace Rhodes of Burlington; sister, Emma Jean Faulkner of Burlington and a brother; Edward L. Hall of Jacksonville, Florida. He was preceded in death by his wife; Dora Estelle Allman Hall; daughter, Margaret Young; grandson, Luke Seamster; granddaughter, Miranda Seamster; parents, Ralph Lee Hall and Bessie Steel Hall; sisters, Esther Jean Sykes, Nell Petry and Vivian Straughn; brothers, William J. Hall, James Luther Hall, Ralph E. Hall, Abe L. Hall and David L. "Doc" Hall. A service to celebrate his life will be held on Tuesday, September 20, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Don Pegg and the burial will follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home and other times at the home.
