Richard Boswell, Sr.

Richard Joel "Butch" Boswell, Sr., 68, passed away Saturday October 4, 2008 at Conway Medical Center. He was born December 23, 1939 to the late Charlie Lee and Merle Hargrove Boswell in Alamance County. Joel was a teacher and former principal and later retired from his own florist. Survivors include his sons, Joey Boswell and wife Martha, Chris Boswell all of Robbins, NC, grandchildren; Mindy Boswell, Kaylee Boswell, Jeremy Akers, a sister Virginia Stewart of Graham; brothers, Harold Boswell and wife Shirley of Burlington, Dan Boswell and wife Penny of Graham, Charles Ronnie "Pete" Boswell and wife Billie of Burlington, brother-in-law Charles Grover McDaniel and Joel's former spouse Norma Boswell. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Jean McDaniel and a brother Don Boswell. The funeral will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6-8 PM Tuesday at Lowe Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc.
