Rev. Charles John Tobelmann, age 75, of Burlington, passed away on Monday, September 20, 2021 at Coble Creek Healthcare at Twin Lakes after several years of failing health.
Born in Temuco, Chile, he was the son of the late Henry Augustus Tobelmann and the late Ruth Fissel Tobelmann and was married for 51 years to Linda Furman Tobelmann, who survives. Charles graduated from Penn State University with a Bachelor’s of Science Degree before his employment as an architect with the Army Corps of Engineers, where he received several congressional citations for his designs. He also served as the area director for InterVarsity Christian Fellowship in Upstate New York before becoming the CEO of Latin Evangelical Outreach Ministry in the metropolitan New York/New Jersey area. Charles loved painting and was very active in the Twin Lakes Art Community.
Rev. Tobelmann is survived by his wife of Twin Lakes; two daughters, Carol Roessner and her husband, James, and Lisa Voorhees and her husband, Peter; three grandchildren, Jonathan, David and Isaac Roessner; three sisters, Lois Senning, Dorothy Bowen and Helen McLeod; two nieces and one nephew. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, George Tobelmann.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, September 27, 2021 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Larry Lamberth and Father Ryan Grove. A private entombment will follow the service. The family will receive friends from 10:00 – 10:45 AM prior to the service at the funeral home.
