Rev. Love, Jr.

Graham-Rev. James Thomas "Tommy" Love, Jr., 87 went home to be with the Lord on Friday, May 26, 2017. He was a native of Alamance County and the husband of 63 years to Selma Watkins Love who passed away on August 11, 2016.
Rev. Love was the pastor for 46 years of Wicker Street Baptist Church and a veteran of the US Army. He was used by the Lord to help mentor many young men in the ministry. Rev. Love was the director of Jubilee Bible Camp for many years. He was involved with Freedom Village, USA; Kenneth Cates Ministries; Word of Life Ministries, Siloam Missionary Home; Sonny Holland Evangelism Outreach and Piedmont Rescue Mission. His life consisted of loving people and sharing his faith in his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
He is survived by a son, James Vernon Love of Graham; grandchildren, Amber Helper and husband, Mike; Tanner and Conner Love and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Selma Watkins Love; daughter, Sherry Love Johnson; parents, Rev. James Thomas Love, Sr. and Agnes Qualls Love and sister, Betty Love London who died in 2016 and Virginia Love McKinney.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of the Horizon's Unit at Mebane Ridge and Hospice of Alamance-Caswell for their kind and compassionate care for Brother Tommy.
A service to celebrate his life will be held on Saturday, June 3, 2017 at 3:00 pm at Wicker Street Baptist Church by Rev. Ricky Lewis and assisted by Rev. Scott London and Rev. Mark Mitchell. Interment will follow at Alamance Memorial Park with military honors provided by the US Army. The family will receive friends from 12:30-2:45 pm prior to the service at the church.
