Rebecca Metters

Mrs. Rebecca Southern Metters, age 77, of Elon, passed away on Sunday, November 14, 2021 at her residence after several months of failing health.

Born in Guilford County, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Reid Southern and the late Ila Holbrook Southern and was married for over 38 years to Gilbert Dale Metters, who passed in 2002.  She was a Vet-Tech with Guil-Rand Veterinary Hospital and greatly enjoyed her profession due to her deep love of animals.  She previously attended SonLight Baptist Church in Asheboro, NC, where her husband formerly served as the Assistant Pastor.

Mrs. Metters is survived by her son, Reid Metters and his wife, Shelley; two granddaughters, Cory Vaughn and husband, Justin, and Caitlin Mann and husband, Austin; and two great granddaughters, Lakelynne Vaughn and McKinley Mann.

Due to Mrs. Metters request there will be a private memorial service at a later date.
