Raymond Hester Frazier

Raymond Hester Frazier, 91, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 23, 2024 at the Hospice Home surrounded by his family. He was a native of Cedar Grove and was born on August 12, 1932 to the late Arvid Rhodes Frazier and Ethel Mae Hester Frazier, and was married to the late Catherine “Cathy” Hauser Frazier who died in 2014.

He retired after 33 years with Western Electric/AT&T. Raymond was a US Army veteran during the Korean War and a member of Staley Memorial Baptist Church. Raymond enjoyed gardening, fishing and spending time with his family and friends. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Raymond is survived by his son, Raymond “Ray” Hester Frazier, Jr.; a stepdaughter, Kim West; grandchildren, Kimberly Grace Frazier and Jason West and wife, Jennifer; his brother, Richard Gooch Frazier; and several nieces and nephews. Raymond was preceded in death by his parents; wife; step son, Paul West; granddaughter, Amanda Webster; brother, Robert Rhodes Frazier; and a sister, Sarah Phelps.

The family would like to express their gratitude to all of Raymond’s caregivers, friends and family members for all their loving care and support during Raymond’s illness. 

The memorial service to celebrate Raymond’s life will be held at 2:00pm Sunday, January 28, 2024 at Staley Memorial Baptist Church by Rev. Rodney Staley. The graveside service with military honors will be held at 2:00pm Monday at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends prior to the service on Monday from 12 noon to 1:30pm at Lowe Funeral Home & Crematory.
