Raymond Church, Sr.

Burlington - Raymond "Jack" Lee Church, Sr., 88, passed away Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born on October 8, 1930 in Guilford County to the late James Otis Church and Grace Virginia Craddock Church, and was married to the late Betty Jean Terrell Church of 68 years who died in 2013.

Jack retired after 35 years as the owner/operator of Church's Exxon. He formerly worked for Burlington Mills and Western Electric as an engineer. He loved gardening, hunting, fishing and working with his hands.

He is survived by his daughters, Jackie Peeler and Kathy Braxton; sons, Kenny Church and Ronnie Church and wife, Mitzi; daughter-in-law, Cheryl Church; 11 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren; sisters, JoAnn Boone and Christine McColluck; brothers-in-law, Jack Keck, Carlton Terrell and wife, Gwen. He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; a son, Raymond "Ray" Lee Church, Jr.; grandson, Ryan Church; and a sister, Mary Church.

The funeral service will be held at 12:00 pm Monday, November 26, 2018 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Ben Bishop with the burial to follow in Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 11:00am to 11:45 am Monday prior to the service and other times at the residence.
