Raymond Brewer

Burlington Raymond Clyde Brewer, 88, passed away Tuesday, July 9, 2013 at the Hospice Home. He was born in Chatham County to the late Alfred Thad Brewer and the late Bessie Johnson Brewer and was married to the late Edna Williamson Brewer who died in 2008. Raymond retired from Westminster Company after 20 years of service, a US Navy Veteran of WWII and a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church. He was also a member of the Burlington Moose Lodge, Wildlife Club and the Alamance Seniors Golf League. He is survived by his daughter, Jean Brewer Covington and fianc, Philip Tilghman of Sebastian, FL; grandchildren, Matt Mitchell and wife Alice of Mooresville, Maria C. Tulloss and husband Harrison of Raleigh, Megan C. Baker and husband Jim of Haw River; great grandchildren, Cameron, Harris, Ward and Lily; sister, Jeanette B. Ellington of Burlington; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; daughter, Verna Brewer Mitchell; brother, Henry Brewer; sisters, Pauline Aldridge and Mildred Duckworth. The graveside service will be held 2:00pm Friday, July 12, 2013 at Alamance Memorial Park by Pastor Darrell Massey. The family will receive friends at Lowe Funeral Home & Crematory from 12:30 to 1:30pm Friday prior to the service. At other times the family will be at the granddaughter's home, Megan Baker.
