Randy Scott Boone

Randy Scott Boone went to be with God Friday, December 20, 2024, after a few months of health issues. He was born on December 21, 1962 to Ann and James Boone. He retired from Duke University Medical Center.

 If you knew Randy, you know he lived his life unapologetically and to the fullest. He loved having a good time, motorcycles, and making people laugh. Shaking your head and laughing was all you could do once you had experienced his outrageous sense of humor. He was open with his opinion, but he was just as open with his love. If you came to Randy with a problem, he was going to do all he could to help. Everyone that knew him is mourning the loss of a loyal friend.

 When God makes someone so carefree he knows to send that person an anchor. A person who offers that free spirit a safe harbor. Randy married the anchor for his soul, Robin Zimmerman Boone on May 12, 1984. Randy and Robin made their home in the Lakeview Community and raised their boys, Christopher Scott Boone and Jamie Nicholas Boone (wife Meagan Strader Boone). To say Randy was a proud dad was an understatement. The pride Randy had for Scott’s military service and for Jamie’s business was always on display. He considered his boys his greatest achievement. 

Ten years ago everyone witnessed Randy mellow out and become a little softer. Syler, Raelee, Heidi, and Adeline made him a Pawpaw. He adored all four of his grandchildren and they adored him. There is no doubt that his fourth granddaughter, Parker Grace, is getting to know him before she arrives in July 2025. Robin and the boys would like to thank everyone for the outpouring of kindness during this time.

A Celebration of Randy’s life will be held Friday, December 27, 2024 at 2:00PM at Lakeview Community Church followed by the graveside at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12:00-1:45PM prior to the service at the church and other times at the home.
