Ralph May

Ralph Edward May, 65, passed away on Tuesday, June 1, 2021 at Moses Cone Hospital after a three-month battle with Covid.  He was born on April 25, 1956 in Guilford County to the late William June May and Mary Jenlee Leard May, and was the husband of 31 years to Sybil Griffin May who survives.

Ralph was a cattle farmer with Tuttle Livestock.  He enjoyed Nascar, being outdoors, hunting, gardening and growing large tomatoes.  Ralph enjoyed watching sports and was a fan of the Duke Blue Devils and the Dallas Cowboys.  He was a loving and devoted husband, father, brother and friend who will be dearly missed.

Survivors other than his wife, Sybil May include a son, Thomas Dale May and girlfriend, Stephanie Wilson; siblings, Linda Gail Forrest and husband Pat, Jo Medlin, Jane Straughn and William “Straw” Wayne May; mother-in-law, Letha Joyce Parker Griffin; several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00pm Wednesday, June 9, 2021 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel.  The family will receive friends from 12:30pm to 1:45pm prior to the service and other times at Letha Joyce Griffin’s residence.
