Ralph Hammond

Elon-Ralph Thomas Hammond, 83 passed away on Sunday, April 9, 2017 at his home. He was born in Lancaster, South Carolina to the late Alyward Ederickson Hammond and Faustine Elizabeth Estridge Hammond.
Ralph was a retired Electrical Engineer receiving his Masters degree from New York University. He was a veteran of the US Navy serving during the Korean War on the USS Rainer. Ralph was a former member of the Jaycees and was involved in several different churches over the course of his life. He is survived by his daughter, Lynn H. Gustaitis and husband, Steve and a son, Scott Hammond and wife, Debbie; grandchildren, Megan Hammond and Tara Darnell and his girlfriend, Rhonda Young. He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers.
A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held on Saturday, June 3, 2017 at 11:00 am at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Dr. Terry Pritchard. The US Navy will provide military honors.
