Ralph Fowler

Mr. Ralph M. Fowler, age 97, of Burlington, passed away on Friday, August 4, 2017 at the Hospice Home after several months of failing health.
Born in Rocky Mount, NC, he was the son of the late B. Worth Fowler and the late Sanatha Stevens Fowler and was married for 68 years to Mrs. Myrtle W. Fowler, who passed away in 2009. Mr. Fowler was a WWII veteran with the U.S. Coast Guard and served over 23 years before retiring as a Senior Chief. He was a member of the V.F.W., the DAV and Masonic Lodge #0563 AF & AM all in Tabor City and was of the Presbyterian faith. Ralph was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
Mr. Fowler is survived by two sons, Dan M. Fowler and his wife, Debbie, of Salisbury and Arnold G. Fowler and his wife, Brenda, of Elon; a daughter, Karen F. Murray and her husband, Mike, of Bay City, TX; twelve grandchildren, Steven Fowler, Jeff Fowler, Matthew Fowler, Andrew Fowler, Kara Jones, Susan Deese, Leslie Murray, Phillip Murray, Chelsea Wall, John Murray, Meredith Murray and Bailey Murray; five great grandchildren; a sister, Elsie Harrelson of Tabor City; and a brother, Neil (Alma) Fowler of Wilmington. He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; and three siblings, Edith Baker, Bion Fowler and Edwin Fowler.
The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 PM Monday, August 7, 2017 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Keith Sexton and Rev. Terry Huffines. Interment will follow in Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1:00 - 1:45 Monday afternoon prior to the service at the funeral home and other times at the son, Arnold's residence.
