Ralph Ball, Jr.

Graham Ralph T. R.T. Ball, Jr., age 78, went to rest with God on September 2, 2011. A native of Alamance County, he was the son of the late Ralph Theodore, Sr. and Loree Walker Ball. He was baptized and confirmed in the Christian Faith and a longtime member of Redeemer Lutheran Church where he had served as an Elder. He was a member of the Quarry Hills Country Club and Piano Tuners Guild. R.T. was a piano tuner technician in the Piedmont area for over 35 years. As an avid music lover, he had the rare gift of perfect pitch and played several musical instruments. His first love was the guitar but he also played the piano and organ. He could play almost any stringed instrument he picked up. R.T. was a Navy veteran serving on the USS Willard Keith and the LST 983. He was an animal lover, especially dogs. His little Buddy Boy was his pride and joy. R.T. was quick to make friends with his fun loving personality and great sense of humor. Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Yarber Ball of the home; daughter, Terry Ball and husband Steve of Atlanta, GA; three grandchildren, Stephen Ball, Sarah Ball and Rachel Ball and one sister, Wandal Royal of Watertown, TN. Funeral services will be held at 10:00am Saturday, September 10, 2011 at the Redeemer Lutheran Church, 2306 Lacy St., Burlington, NC by the Rev. David Tessmann. Interment will take place at 1:30pm Saturday in Turners Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, Courtney, NC. Mr. Ball will remain at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory until being taken to the church for services. The family will receive friends at Lowe Funeral Home from 6-8pm Friday and at the residence at other times. Memorials may be made to the R.T.
