Rachael Graham Talbert, 79, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, February 26, 2023. A native of Alamance County, she was born September 5, 1943 to the late Robert Verdin and Ila Payne Graham and was the wife of the late Kenneth Talbert.
Rachel attended Bellmont United Methodist Church until Covid 2020. She retired at 60 and continued to work everyday with afterschool care at E.M. Holt Elementary until 2020. Rachael enjoyed listening to Elvis, the Statler Brothers and was a Steve Harvey fan. She also enjoyed soap operas and loved her animals, but most of all she loved her family, especially her only granddaughter, Taylor.
She is survived by her sons, Robert Gerringer (Joyce), Jim Gerringer (Jason Cash); daughter, Deborah Hopkins and granddaughter, Taylor Hopkins Jones (Cody). She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Talbert, former husband, Wayne Edward Gerringer, parents, brothers, Robert Graham and Thomas Graham and a sister, Peggy Emmanuel.
A service to celebrate Rachael’s life will be at 2:00pm on Saturday, March 4, 2023 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Jon Helton with the burial to follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1:00 - 1:45 prior to the service at the funeral home and other times at the home.
