Gibsonville Quentin Durward "Mike" Church, 68, passed away January 15, 2014 at the Hospice Home in Burlington, NC surrounded by his family. Born in Palmer, MA, he was the son of the late Durward James and Irene May Leville Church and was the husband of the late Judith Mitton Church. Mike was a member of Friedens Lutheran Church and retired from Battleground Tire in Burlington, NC. He was a US Army veteran serving in the Vietnam War and was a member of the VFW Post 10607 American Legion. Survivors include his sons, James R. Church of Salisbury, NC and John R. Church of Burlington, NC; daughters, Lisa Hoosier of Burlington, NC and Elizabeth Huskey of Elon, NC; grandchildren, Dennis Cox, Michael Huskey, Seth Hoosier and Judith May; great grandchildren, Kaedence Cox and Kaley Cox; sister, Bonnie Church Crocker of Amesbury, MA and brother, Leland D. Church of Monson, Ma. He is preceded in death by his wife, Judith Mitton Church; Parents, Durward J. and Irene May Leville Church; brother, Wayne D. Church; granddaughter, Amy Huskey and great-granddaughter, Khloe Cox. A Memorial service will be held 11:00am on Monday, January 20, 2014 at Friedens Lutheran Church Cemetery in Gibsonville, NC by Pastor Bill Zima. The family will receive friends at the daughter, Elizabeth's home at 3441 Amock Rd., Elon, NC.
