Mrs. Phyllis Annette Clary Ford, age 72, of 636 Elizabeth Ave., died Friday, April 20, 2012 at the Hospice Home after several weeks of failing heath. Born in Gaffney, SC, she was the daughter of the late Charlie Fitzsimmons Clary and Ida Angela Medley Clary. She was married for over 55 years to John Larry Ford, who survives. Phyllis was a longtime homemaker, as well as the owner and operator of Discount Furniture Mart and "B-5" Bingo. She was also a member of Davidson Memorial Baptist Church in Shelby, NC. Mrs. Ford is survived by her husband of the home; two daughters, Kristie Ford of Graham and Kimberly Ford of Burlington; two sons, Scott Ford of Gibsonville and Steve Ford of Elon, four grandchildren, David Ford, Brittney Ford, Taylor Ford and Wesley Ford; two great grandchildren, Ethan Ford and Hunter Ford; and two sisters, Wib Clary and Jerry Crotts and her husband, Gene, all of Shelby, NC. She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Frances Lemons; and two brothers, Lloyd Clary and Walter Clary. The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 PM Tuesday, April 24, 2012 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Walter Jones. Entombment will follow at Alamance Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 12:00-1:45 Tuesday afternoon prior to the service and other times at the home of her daughter, Kimberly Ford, 822 King St., Burlington. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Alamance-Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Rd., Burlington, NC 27215.
